New Delhi, 17/6: The meltdown of the Trinamool Congress has opened up the Opposition space in West Bengal with the Congress and the CPI(M) now seeing an opening to expand their otherwise meagre influence in the state where they once ruled.
They also believe around 60 Trinamool Congress MLAs breaking away from Mamata Banerjee are viewed by the public as something orchestrated by the ruling BJP, helping them make further inroads into the secular space. The rebellion in Parliament has also added to the comfort of Congress and CPM.
