Bhubaneswar: The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is likely to cross the South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh coasts by Wednesday midnight, said the IMD in its latest weather report.As per the IMD forecast, the deep depression over west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal is very likely to move west-northwestwards and cross South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh coasts between Gopalpur and Vishakhapatnam, close to Kalingapatnam, between 8.30 pm and 11.30 pm on Wednesday.At least four districts in Odisha—Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri—may witness extremely heavy rainfall with gusty winds (speed reaching upto 50-60 km per hour) due to the impact of the deep depression. The IMD has issued a Red warning in this regard.while issuing an Orange warning in this regard.Similarly, some other districts including Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj are likely to witness heavy rainfall due to the impact of the system.
