Baripada, October 2:As part of the district-level observance of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, a discussion session on the life philosophy, principles and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi was held at the conference hall of the District Collector’s Office in Baripada.
The discussion was presided over by District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) Shishir Kumar Munduya. Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Dukhbandhu Nayak attended as the chief guest, while District Education Officer Purnachandra Sethi and Dr. Bhagabat Prasad Panda, Secretary of the organisation ‘Pratishruti’, attended as guests of honour.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and offering of floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Addressing the gathering, chief guest Mr. Nayak highlighted truth and non-violence as the fundamental principles of Mahatma Gandhi’s life philosophy. He said that Gandhiji’s principles, ideals and philosophy remain relevant to society and individual life even today.
Guest of honour Mr. Sethi spoke about Mahatma Gandhi’s life and ideals and stated that following the path of truth strengthens the foundation of moral values and success in life. He called upon everyone to draw inspiration from Gandhiji’s principles and ideals and practise truth, non-violence and moral values in their daily lives.
Students from various educational institutions attended the discussion and listened to deliberations on Gandhiji’s life, principles and ideals. The programme created awareness and inspired the students about Gandhiji’s thoughts and human values.
At the conclusion of the programme, DIPRO Mr. Munduya proposed the vote of thanks. All staff members of the District Information and Public Relations Office extended active cooperation in the smooth conduct of the programme.
