East Coast Railway Holds Mass Shramdaan Under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026

Bhubaneswar, 1 October 2026 As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, East Coast Railway organised a mass Shramdaan under the theme “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” at Rail Vihar Ground, Bhubaneswar, today, reinforcing its commitment towards cleanliness, public participation and a sustainable environment. Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal, General Manager, East Coast Railway, participated in the programme and led the cleanliness activities along with officers, staff, families and Safai Mitras. He also administered the Swachhata message and called upon railway personnel and citizens to make cleanliness a regular habit and contribute actively towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment. During the mass Shramdaan, participants undertook cleaning and beautification activities at the Rail Vihar Ground, including trimming and dressing of vegetation and other cleanliness related works. The initiative witnessed active participation from railway officers, employees, their families and Safai Mitras. The programme also included felicitation of Safai Mitras, recognising their valuable contribution towards maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in railway premises. The General Manager appreciated their dedicated efforts and emphasised the importance of ensuring their dignity, safety and well-being. The Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign is being observed from 17th September to 2nd October 2026 across East Coast Railway, covering railway stations, trains, offices, workshops, hospitals and residential colonies. The campaign focuses on Jan Bhagidari, sustainable waste management, cleanliness, behavioural change and the welfare of Safai Mitras.
