Bhubaneswar, September 21, 2026:A five-day induction training for Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) teaching Odia has been organised by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education under the School and Mass Education Department, Odisha. The training programme is being held at IMAGE, Siripur, Bhubaneswar, with the participation of around 100 Odia PGT teachers from Government Higher Secondary Schools and Government Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools across the state.The inaugural session was attended by PM-POSHAN State Nodal Officer Shri Bhawani Prasad Mishra, Director of Higher Secondary Education Smt. Niyati Pattnaik, Joint Directors Smt. Snigdha Mishra and Smt. Sasmita Mali, and Deputy Director Smt. C.H. Bijayalakshmi.Addressing the participants, PM-POSHAN State Nodal Officer Shri Bhawani Prasad Mishra urged the teachers to become role models for their students. He said that recognising teachers’ competencies and understanding their effective utilisation are among the key objectives of training programmes. He also advised teachers to identify and address the gaps in communication and understanding between students and teachers.Director of Higher Secondary Education Smt. Niyati Pattnaik, in her address, encouraged the PGT teachers to continue learning and updating their knowledge. She emphasised that teachers must themselves remain learners in order to effectively impart knowledge to students.Joint Director Smt. Sasmita Mali delivered the welcome address and outlined the objectives and focus of the five-day training programme. Joint Director Smt. Snigdha Mishra proposed the vote of thanks, while Deputy Director Smt. C.H. Vijayalakshmi coordinated the programme.
