SUBARNAPUR —In a significant anti-corruption development, Odisha Vigilance has secured the conviction of one Former Soil Conservation Officer, Purunakatak, Dist-Boudh, in a DA case.
Today i.e. on 31.08.2026, Kartikeswar Sahu, Former Soil Conservation Officer, Purunakatak, Dist-Boudh (Retired), who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for possessing disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income,was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.50,000/-
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Kartikeswar Sahu, Former Soil Conservation Officer, Purunakatak, Dist-Boudh (Retired) following his conviction. Report — Ugrasen Karmi.
