Fresh Trouble for Bikram Panda: New Case Registered Over Witness Intimidation from Jail

Former MLA Bikram Panda has landed in fresh legal trouble just days after walking out of jail. Brahmapur Superintendent of Police Saravana Vivek announced that a new case has been registered against the former legislator following allegations of threatening a witness over the phone.According to police investigations, the threats were made from inside the prison using a phone belonging to Dr Susanta Panigrahi. Authorities uncovered concrete evidence of the conversation through jail CCTV footage, prompting an immediate response. A formal FIR has been registered at the Gosani Nuagaon police station.In addition to Bikram Panda, a separate case has also been slapped against Madan Dalai for similar intimidation charges. Meanwhile, police have stated that official communication will soon be sent to the state administration to initiate strict departmental action against Dr Panigrahi for facilitating the prohibited phone communication from custody.The development comes hot on the heels of Panda’s recent release on conditional bail. He had been previously jailed in connection with the high-profile murder case of advocate Pitabasa Panda. With fresh charges surfacing over witness tampering, the former MLA’s legal battles have deepened significantly.
