Berhampur, Oct 23: Ganjam police have arrested 440 gamblers and seized cash worth ₹11.64 lakh during a three-day crackdown on illegal gambling dens across the district amid the ongoing festival season.During the special drives, police raided 79 gambling dens across different police station jurisdictions and seized ₹11,64,936 in cash, 113 mobile phones and 25 vehicles.On October 22, police conducted raids at 42 gambling dens under 21 police station jurisdictions, arresting 250 gamblers. The raids resulted in the seizure of ₹7,09,871 in cash, 69 mobile phones and 11 vehicles.Bhanjanagar police station recorded the highest number of cases during the drive, registering five cases and arresting 29 gamblers, police said.Meanwhile, Hinjilikatu police station registered two cases, arrested five gamblers and seized ₹91,340 in cash.
