Goods train derails in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: A coal-laden goods train derailed in Odisha’s Balangir district Monday, officials said.The incident happened at 11.23 am between Sikir and Titlagarh railway stations, they said.The rear trolley wheel of the 14th loaded wagon from the locomotive came off the tracks, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) said in a statement.No casualty has been reported in connection with the incident, it said.Soon after the derailment, senior railway officials of the Sambalpur division of ECoR visited the spot, while an accident relief train was dispatched from Kantabanji to carry out restoration work, the statement said.Restoration work is underway on a war footing, it said.The derailment has not affected passenger train services, it added.
