Heavy rain to continue in Odisha, 16 districts under yellow warning

Rainfall activity is likely to ease slightly across Odisha on Wednesday, but there will be no complete respite as several parts of the state are expected to receive more showers. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of western Odisha, with Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Bargarh likely to be the worst affected.According to the weather office, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in the three western Odisha districts. Several areas of northern and coastal Odisha may also witness rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.The IMD has issued a yellow warning for 16 districts for Wednesday, indicating the possibility of adverse weather conditions in these areas. People in the affected districts have been advised to remain alert, particularly during thunderstorms and lightning activity.The weather office has forecast continued rainfall across Odisha until September 6. While the intensity is expected to come down slightly on Wednesday, rain is likely to remain active in several parts of the state.On Thursday, rainfall is expected across northern, southern and coastal Odisha, with a yellow warning issued for 13 districts.The continuing wet spell is likely to keep weather conditions unsettled across the state over the next few days, with more rain expected in different parts of Odisha.
