Notorious criminal Arjun Pradhan was injured in a police encounter in the Nandipada police station area in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Friday morning. He reportedly sustained a bullet injury to his leg and was initially admitted to Anandapur Medical for treatment. He was undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.A country-made pistol and ammunition were seized from his possession. Pradhan is reportedly the prime accused in a jewellery shop robbery in Bantal village under the Soso police station limits in Anandapur. More than 40 cases remain registered against him at various police stations in Odisha and other states.Police Encounter in Keonjhar.According to reports, the Keonjhar police was tracking Pradhan for a long time. On Friday morning, a police team went out to apprehend him on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police (SP).During the operation, Pradhan allegedly opened fire at the police personnel using a country-made pistol. He was subsequently injured in the exchange of fire and taken to Anandapur Medical for treatment before being shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.Reports suggest that Pradhan will be taken into remand and questioned once he recovers.No further information was provided by the police regarding the case at the time of reporting.
