Sundaragada: A man was abducted and murdered in Sundaragada district, while one of the accused died and two others were critically injured in a road accident while allegedly fleeing the crime scene, police said on Tuesday.The deceased has been identified as Sibadhan Lohar, a resident of Jharkhand.According to reports, the incident took place late Sunday night when two persons from Jharkhand were returning in an SUV and a hatchback after admitting their relatives to Sundaragada Government Medical College and Hospital. Near Subdega under Talsara police station limits, three youths on a motorcycle allegedly chased the vehicles.While the SUV managed to escape, the assailants intercepted the hatchback and abducted Sibadhan. The accused allegedly stabbed him, robbed him of his mobile phone and purse, and later took him away in the vehicle.Police said the victim was later killed near the railway overbridge in the Duduka area under Hemgir police station limits, and his body was dumped into a nearby drain.After the crime, the accused allegedly fled the spot in the same vehicle towards Sundaragada. However, their escape attempt ended in tragedy when the car lost control and skidded off the road near Khamarbahal village under Bhasma police station limits.One of the accused died on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries and were rushed for medical treatment.
