Security forces have achieved a major success in the ongoing anti-Maoist operations in Rourkela police district with the recovery of a suspected Maoist dump from Silakuta Reserve Forest.According to a police press release, the recovery was made during a joint search and area-domination operation conducted by the District Voluntary Force (DVF) and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).The operation was launched based on information reportedly obtained during the questioning of a Maoist cadre who surrendered on August 23. Acting on the intelligence input, security personnel carried out a search operation in the forest area and located the concealed dump.Arms, ammunition and communication equipment recovered.Police said several items were recovered from the dump, including a 9mm Carbine 1A1, an IED container, detonators, ammunition and communication equipment.
