Sambalpur:(Correspondent) :- Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) today commenced the fortnight-long Swachhta Pakhwada-2026 across its headquarters and all operational areas, reaffirming its commitment towards cleanliness, environmental sustainability and community participation. The campaign will be observed till 30th June 2026.
Shri Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, formally inaugurated the campaign and administered the Swachhata Pledge to employees at the company headquarters in the presence of Functional Directors and the CVO.
On this occasion, a Swachhata Rath was also flagged off, which will travel through peripheral areas spreading awareness on cleanliness, sanitation and responsible waste management practices among local communities.
CMD Shri Kaole also unveiled a display model of MCL’s flagship CSR project- Comprehensive Community Development Programme (CCDP–UTTHAN). The model highlights various sustainable livelihood initiatives implemented by the company across its operational districts, including agro-horticulture, animal husbandry, livestock development, artificial insemination, water resource development and other community development interventions.
The campaign is being organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India and various awareness activities will be organised during the fortnight-long campaign at company headquarters and operational areas including street plays, cleanliness drives at public places, competitions, felicitation of sanitation workers and plantation under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative.
