Bhadrak: A minor girl drowned after being swept away by the strong current of the Reba river at Narayanpur village under Dhamanagar police station in Bhadrak district on Sunday.According to reports, four minor girls had gone to the Reba river to bathe when they slipped and were swept away by the current. Hearing their cries for help, local residents immediately rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.Three of the girls were rescued safely by the locals. The fourth girl was rescued after some time in a critical condition and was immediately rushed to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).However, doctors at the hospital declared her dead.The incident has triggered grief in Narayanpur village, with the news of the girl’s death leaving the local residents shocked.
