Mysuru, 11/7:Veteran playback singer S Janaki passed away on Saturday at the age of 88.
Known as the ‘Nightingale of South India’, she was the recipient of four National Film Awards and 33 different State Film Awards.She breathed her last at Apollo hospital in Mysuru at around 7.30 pm. She was admitted on Saturday at 12.30 pm as she had complained about fever and drowsiness.
