Bhubaneswar: Odisha government Monday sanctioned an immediate relief package of Rs 110 crore for flood-affected families, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi directing officials to expedite assistance and assuring that additional funds would be allocated after a comprehensive damage assessment is completed.The government said relief operations are continuing across the affected districts, with officials working to restore essential services and provide support to displaced families. Gratuitous relief will continue for all eligible beneficiaries until conditions return to normal.The announcement followed the chief minister’s aerial inspection of flood-ravaged districts. Majhi also deputed ministers to oversee relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts on the ground, while instructing district administrations to speed up restoration work and ensure that relief reaches affected people without delay.Under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) guidelines, families whose houses have been destroyed will receive Rs 1.20 lakh for reconstruction. Financial assistance of Rs 6,500 has been announced for partially damaged pucca houses, Rs 4,000 for partially damaged kutcha houses, Rs 8,000 for damaged thatched houses and Rs 3,000 for damaged cattle sheds.
