Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is strengthening COVID-19 surveillance, especially in the bordering districts, after reports of multiple coronavirus cases in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, an official said.State Public Health Director Rabindranath Mishra told reporters here that tests are being conducted at district-level health facilities across the state.“No positive coronavirus case has been detected in Odisha so far,” he said, urging people not to panic.“We have asked the chief district medical officers (CDMOs) to step up surveillance, after reports of a number of people getting infected due to COVID-19 in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh,” Mishra said.The heightened surveillance also comes ahead of the annual Rath Yatra, which is expected to draw lakhs of devotees from across the country to Puri.
