Odisha govt to appoint 4,623 candidates across 27 departments today .

Bhubaneswar, April 23: A total of 4,623 candidates will be appointed across 27 departments at a state-level job fair to be held at Kalinga Stadium on Thursday. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will attend the event and distribute appointment letters to the selected candidates.This will be the first job fair of the year and the 15th such recruitment drive conducted by the BJP-led state government.The School and Mass Education Department will account for the highest number of appointments, with 4,113 candidates set to be recruited. Other departments include Forest, Environment and Climate Change (154), Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (143), Steel and Mines (77), Fisheries and Animal Resources Development (70), Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water (52), and Skill Development (14).Notably, on December 30, 2025, the state government had appointed 1,543 candidates across 11 departments. By the end of December, a total of 39,459 appointments had been made. With the latest recruitment drive, the total number of jobs provided by the government over the last 22 months will exceed 44,000.
