Bhubaneswar: Members of the All Odisha Teachers Aspirants’ Association began a hunger strike Saturday at Bhubaneswar’s Lower PMG after talks with the government reportedly failed to resolve their demands, sources said.The teacher aspirants reportedly held discussions with the Mass Education Minister Friday to seek a resolution to their demands. However, the talks reportedly failed to yield a solution, prompting the association to launch a hunger strike, sources said.The association has been protesting at Lower PMG since August 17.A protester said that a five-member team held discussions with the government Friday.“We realised that the government is aware of our situation but is not serious about it. They said that whenever the time comes, they will provide jobs to us and that we cannot force them to do so,” the protestor added.Following the unsuccessful talks, the association has reportedly decided to continue its protest at Lower PMG indefinitely.
