Odisha to introduce fully cashless land registration system

Bhubaneswar, July 7: Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari today informed that all land purchase and sale transactions in Odisha will soon become completely cashless.Under the new system, no cash payments will be permitted during the land registration process. Previously, cash transactions of up to ₹15,000 were allowed.The minister said the decision has been taken to make land registration offices free from middlemen and ensure greater transparency in the registration process.He also informed that property owners will no longer have to make repeated visits to registration offices. They will only need to appear once for identity verification.After the registration is completed, the registered land documents will be made available online, making the process more convenient for citizens.Pujari added that the Revenue Department will soon issue a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the implementation of the new system.Special training will also be provided to revenue officials to ensure the smooth rollout of the cashless land registration process.
