Puri Srimandir darshan to remain suspended for five hours on Friday, here’s why

Puri, September 3:Public darshan at the Srimandir in Puri will remain closed for five hours on Friday, September 4, on account of the special rituals associated with Krishna Janmashtami.According to the Srimandir administration, general darshan will remain suspended from 7 pm to midnight after the completion of the Sandhya Dhupa Bhoga. During this period, the Krishna Janma Niti will be performed as per the temple’s traditional rituals.The temple administration has informed devotees about the temporary restriction through a post on X.The Janmashtami rituals will be observed at the Srimandir on September 4. The celebrations will continue with Nandotsav on September 5, marking the beginning of the traditional Krishna Leela rituals.As per the preliminary schedule, Banabhoji, Kolibika, Bakasura and Arghasura Badha rituals will be observed on September 6, followed by Kaliya Dalana and Dhenukasura Badha rituals on September 7.On September 8, Pralambasura Badha and related rituals are scheduled, while Krishna-Balaram Besha and Annapan Pratha will be observed on September 9.The subsequent rituals include Dabagni Leela on September 12, Nikunja Leela on September 13, Andha Leela on September 15, Daha Leela on September 16, Bimbasura Badha on September 17, Kekesi Badha and Bastraharan on September 18, and Mathura Haat and Kansa Badha on September 21.The preliminary schedule concludes with the Indra Hati ritual on September 26.
