Today i.e on 24.07.2026, a short while ago, Smt. Sai Darshini Lenka, Revenue Inspector (RI), Kaupada Circle, Dist-Kendrapada has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance *while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs.5,500/- from an applicant for furnishing favourable report in Mutation case and issuance of ROR*. The applicant had purchased a piece of land from two joint owners a few years back. The applicant had applied on 24.06.2026 for mutation of his purchased land to get ROR( Land Patta) in his favour. Since then, he had been requesting accused RI Smt Lenka to dispose of the mutation case. But, accused RI Smt. Lenka demanded bribe Rs.6,000/- to furnish favourable report in mutation case and for facilitating issuance of ROR in his favour. When the applicant expressed his inability to pay the demanded bribe, accused RI reduced the bribe amount to Rs.5,500/-. Unable to meet the demand, applicant ( Complainant) reported the matter to vigilance authorities narrating harassment by Smt.Lenka. On this, today, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Smt. Lenka, RI, while taking bribe Rs 5500/- from the complt. *The entire bribe money Rs.5,500/- has been recovered from the possession of accused Smt. Lenka, RI and seized*. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Smt. Lenka from DA angle. In this connection, Kataka Vigilance PS Case no.27 dt.23.07.2026, U/s-7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Smt. Lenka, RI. investigation of the case is in progress. Detailed report follows.
