Twenty-eight fishing trawlers carrying 248 fishermen from Andhra Pradesh have taken shelter at Odisha’s Paradip Port as rough sea conditions prevented them from returning to their home state.The Paradip Port Authority permitted the fishermen and their trawlers to take shelter inside the port. They have been accommodated at the EQ-1 berth as a safety measure amid the prevailing weather conditions.Ships currently engaged in cargo loading operations have been instructed to complete the work immediately and move to a safe distance into the sea. The port authorities have also initiated the process of moving ships out of the port.Further Steps Based On WeatherAuthorities at the Paradip Port said that further measures would be taken based on the impact of the storm and rain and the information received from the Meteorological Department.The arrangements have been made as the sea remains rough, with authorities continuing to monitor the weather situation and take necessary safety measures.
