Brahmapur: Five persons, including a man and his wife, have been arrested in Brahmapur of Odisha’s Ganjam district for allegedly duping several job aspirants of around 1.5 crore rupees promising them jobs in government departments.The accused have been identified as Jagadish Behera and his wife Banita Behera, both from Gopalpur; Ajit Panda from Puri; Sishir Kumar Mishra from Kendrapada; and Litu Swain from Khordha.Based on a complaint, Baidyanathpur police of Brahmapur had arrested Jagadish Behera and his four associates and sent them to court.According to the complaint, the accused cheated a person by the name of Manoranjan Mahanti after he believed them and collected about 1.5 crore from number of educated unemployed individuals and gave the money to Jagadish Behera.After failing to arrange jobs as promised he gave complaint to police.Police have arrested all five accused persons after investigation and recovered some fake appointment letters, Money Receipts and papers.
