Angul, May 7: A sex racket operating from a house in Angul town was busted after police conducted a raid based on intelligence inputs. The illegal operation was allegedly being run by an elderly man from his residence in Saubhagya nagar area. During the raid, police detained several persons, rescued two women involved in prostitution and seized objectionable materials from the spot.According to police sources, the accused had allegedly been running the racket for several years by bringing sex workers to his house. The elderly man reportedly lives alone, while his wife and other family members stay elsewhere. Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the involvement of others in the illegal trade.Notably, this is the second sex racket busted by Angul Town Police within a month. Earlier on April 9, police had exposed another racket operating from a lodge at Turang on the outskirts of the town. In that case, the lodge owner, manager and two customers were arrested, while four women were rescued during the operation.
