Special Intensive Revision of Voter List (SIR) BLO dies under pressure

SUBARNAPUR 19/6 — On the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the Special Intensive Revision of Voter List (SIR) work is going on across the state. School teachers are working as BLOs. Some BLOs are under pressure for SIR work. Such an unusual incident was witnessed in Boudh district today.

We have received news that a headmaster engaged in SIR work died while undergoing treatment. The news reports that,

The death of Shayan Sahu, the headmaster of Dimirikhol School in Boudh district, is alleged to have occurred due to the pressure of BLO work.

It is learnt that he died while undergoing treatment at the Subarnapur District Head Quarter Hospital . The doctor declared him dead at the hospital.

The son of the deceased teacher, whose father died due to pressure from SIR work, has alleged that the deceased teacher was put in charge of BLO. Allegations of being threatened with suspension from service for negligence.

Headmaster Shayan Sahu was performing duties as BLO in SIR work.
