The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of two judges from the Orissa High Court to the Gujarat High Court and Chhattisgarh High Court.The recommendations were made during a meeting of the Supreme Court Collegium held on August 6, 2026.Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak recommended for Gujara.The Collegium has recommended the transfer of Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak from the Orissa High Court to the Gujarat High Court.If approved, Justice Pathak will take up his judicial responsibilities at the Gujarat High Court following the completion of the transfer process.Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra proposed for Chhattisgarh.The Collegium has also recommended transferring Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra from the Orissa High Court to the Chhattisgarh High Court.The recommendation is part of the Collegium’s latest decisions on the transfer of High Court judges.Centre’s approval required.The proposed transfers are not final yet. The recommendations will require approval from the Central government before the necessary transfer notifications are issued.The two recommendations will therefore take effect only after the prescribed process is completed.The Supreme Court Collegium’s decision comes as part of the broader process through which judges of High Courts are transferred between different High Courts.
