Nuapada: A house was reportedly burgled in Nuapada town on Sunday night, in an incident that occurred near the official residence of Nuapada Superintendent of Police Amritpal Singh. The targeted house belongs to retired professor Kishore Kumar Barik and teacher Swarnalata Jhankar. The house is located along National Highway 353. According to reports, the thieves entered the house and allegedly fled with sarees, cash, silver articles and silver coins worth around Rs 20 lakh. The theft came to light on Monday morning, following which the Nuapada police were informed. A police team reached the spot and launched an investigation. Police are examining various aspects of the incident, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved. Further details are expected to emerge after the investigation progresses.
