TN CM Vijay writes to PM Modi opposing Viksit Bharat scheme over funding burden

Chennai, 2/7: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay opposed the Union government’s proposed implementation of the Viksit Bharat Guarantee scheme, claiming that the new framework would impose an additional financial burden of over Rs 5,000 crore on the state while creating operational challenge.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, he said particular provisions of the VB-G RAMG Act, 2025 require important relaxations and modifications. Without them, the seamless and effective execution of this scheme on ground would suffer.
