Rayagada, June 17, 2026: Panic spread in the Chandili area of Rayagada district after the body of an unidentified woman was recovered from a black-colored bag abandoned near the roadside close to a Hyundai showroom at Khaliguda village under Chandili police limits on Wednesday.According to police, the deceased woman is believed to be around 30 to 35 years old. Preliminary investigation indicates that unknown persons may have tied her hands, placed her inside the bag, and dumped it at the spot in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.The body was recovered in the presence of an Executive Magistrate. Chandili Police have registered a case (Chandili P.S. Case No. 198/2026) and launched a detailed investigation into the incident.Police said the body belongs to a female, but due to decomposition of the face, her identity could not be immediately established. The deceased is estimated to be between 5 feet and 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a fair to wheatish complexion.Efforts are underway to identify the woman and ascertain the circumstances leading to her death. Chandili Police have appealed to the public and media to share information regarding any missing woman matching the description so that her identity can be established and her family members traced.Further investigation is in progress.
