Allegations of illegal hunting have surfaced in Dedara village under Khaprakhol police limits, where a wild boar was reportedly killed by electric wires laid near a farmhouse.Acting on information, a joint team of the forest department, police, and electricity officials raided the farmhouse and seized the carcass of a 60‑kg wild boar. The operation was led by Forest Guards Sudhir Jena and Indramani Behera.Officials said the accused, identified as Ugresan Majhi, initially fled but was later brought in for questioning. The seized carcass was sent for post‑mortem at Harishankar forest office.The incident has sparked debate locally, with questions raised over whether the farmhouse management was aware of the wire‑trap hunting.
