Cuttack: A youth was critically injured after miscreants opened fire on him at Kuanpal Chhak under Maniabandh Police Station in Cuttack district.The injured youth has been identified as Kalia Jena. Jena was on his way to a salon to get a haircut when four miscreants, who arrived on two motorcycles, suddenly opened fire on him. The attackers fired around 4 rounds before fleeing from the spot.The bullets hit Jena in the chest and leg. He was immediately rushed to Maniabandh Medical Facility in a serious condition. He was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital as his condition deteriorated.Upon being informed, police have reached the spot and launched an investigation. The exact motive behind the shooting is still unclear.Sources indicate that Jena has multiple criminal cases registered against him at the local police station.Police suspect the attack could be linked to previous enmity or rivalry, but further details will only emerge after a thorough probe.
