Santiniketan, 24/12: Today, on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Visva-Bharati University Santiniketan, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing students through video conferencing.
Visva-Bharati is the oldest central university in the country. On this occasion, PM Modi said, India’s soul, India’s self-reliance, and India’s self-respect are related to each other. PM Modi says that generations of Bengal had expended themselves to protect India’s self-esteem.
PM Modi said, ‘100 years of Visva-Bharati University is a matter of great pride for every Indian. It is also pleasant for me that on this day I am getting an opportunity to remember the virtue of this taphobhoomi. For India, the dream that Gurudev had dreamed, it is a kind of adorable place to give continuous energy to the country to make that dream come true.”
He also urged the students to help local artists sell their products online as there will be no Poush Mela this year. He also stated that the university had played a greater role in building a new India.
