Mumbai, 4/1 (AO bureau) : Former Prime Minister of Nepal and President of rival faction of ruling Nepal Communist Party Pushp Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has arrived in Mumbai for treatment of his ailing wife. Prachanda, his wife Sita Dahal, and two daughters took a flight to Mumbai via Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday morning. Prachanda’s wife is suffering from a rare brain disease called progressive supranuclear palsy.
The disease has similar symptoms as Parkinson’s. According to party sources, he is likely to be treated at the Neurogen Brain and Spine Institute in Mumbai. Sources said that under the leadership of Dr. Alok Sharma, a team of doctors will treat Prachanda’s wife. Earlier, Prachanda’s wife was taken to the US and Singapore for treatment. He was admitted to the Medicity Hospital in Kathmandu last week following health complications.
