Gujrat, 18/1 (AO Bureau): Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave two more gifts to Gujarat on Monday. PM Modi performed Bhoomi Pujan for the second phase of the Ahmedabad Metro project and the Surat Metro Rail Project (Surat Metro). Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, and Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were also present in the event organized through video conferencing. PM Modi also gave information about the development work done in Surat, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and other cities during the program.
During this, PM Modi said that at the beginning of Uttarayan, Ahmedabad and Surat are getting very important gifts today. Metro route is being strengthened in the country. This will connect the business networks of Surat. Today, the work of infrastructure worth more than 17 thousand crore rupees is starting in Ahmedabad. This shows that even in this era of Corona, the efforts of the country are constantly increasing for the construction of new infrastructure. PM Modi said, ‘In the 10-12 years before 2014, only 225 km metro line was operational. At the same time, over 450 km metro network has been operationalized in the last 6 years. After Ahmedabad, Surat is the second major city of Gujarat to be connected to modern public transport systems like the Metro. The metro network in Surat will in a way connect the important merchant center of the entire city.
