Satabdi Roy rewarded for not joining BJP

Bengal, 17/1(AO Bureau) Trinamool Congress MP Satabdi Roy was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the party’s West Bengal unit on Sunday. Satabdi, a Trinamool Congress MP from Birbhum, compromised the party after a brief period of rebellion. Earlier, there was speculation about his joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Roy is considered close to the state’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Expressing happiness over being given an important responsibility in the party, Shatabdi told reporters that she will work as a dedicated worker of the party and will ensure BJP’s defeat in the upcoming assembly elections. Assembly elections are expected in the state in April-May. Satabdi said, “If you take the subject of the party to the top leadership, then it is resolved. This development proves this. ‘ “I welcome the verdict,” she said when she was appointed state unit vice-president as part of the reshuffle in the party organization. Shatabdi Roy, who entered politics from the world of acting, is a prominent face in the film culture of Mamata Banerjee’s party. He is a Lok Sabha member for the third consecutive time from Birbhum.
