Bhubaneswar : The month-long Jan Bhagidari programmes are currently underway at the KIIT DU, which is also organizing events across Odisha. The University has been entrusted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to host Y20 Consultation on the theme ‘Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century Skills’ and G20 Janbhagidari events on the theme ‘Making Tech-enabled Learning more Inclusive, Qualitative and Collaborative’ respectively under the overall framework of the G20.
The Presidency of G20 has emerged as a poignant moment of humanity, democracy, hope and peace.
Programmes related to education and skills have been held in various educational institutions since April 1 and will continue up to April 25, while seminars and exhibitions on future work will be held till April 29.
Delegations from G20 countries have already participated in the Y20 Consultations on 14-15 April held in KIIT DU.
Earlier on 2nd April, a quiz competition ‘UDGHOSH 2023’ was organized where 500 students from different institutions participated. On 4th April a Student Panel Discussion on the Theme ‘Empowering youth to face the challenges posed by rapid technological changes’ was held and more than 100 students participated.
On 4th April a Yoga session was held while on the 5th an expert lecture on ‘Making Tech-enabled Learning more Inclusive, Qualitative and Collaborative’ was held where 92 faculty members, B. Tech students, M. Tech students, PhD scholars and laboratory technical assistants attended the event.
Similarly, a competition to ‘Empower youths to face & adapt to the challenges posed by new technologies’ was held on 6th April, while on 7th Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was conducted and the 8th plantation drive had taken place. On 9, 10 and 11th April Jan Bhagidari seminars were organized at Model Degree College Sonepur, Model Degree College Boudh and Autonomous College, Phulbani respectively.
A workshop was organized by the School of Civil Engg. on the theme ‘Making tech-enabled learning more inclusive, qualitative, and collaborative’ on the 11th. On the 15th the Art & Craft Society of KIIT University conducted an event, ‘Kalaa – the unfettered canvas’, on the occasion of World Art Day. The Literary Society of KIIT conducted an essay and slogan writing competition on 17th April.
The Working Group meeting will be inaugurated on April 27. In all, 75 institutions in the field of education and skill development along with representatives of G-20 countries will participate in it. The meeting will focus on 4 main themes namely: Primary Literacy and Statistics, Technology-Based Teaching, Future Approaches and Research Partnerships.
Precursor events to the G20 Education Working Group Meetings will start from April 23 to 25 at the CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar. These events will be organized in collaboration with various central institutions and industry bodies.
