Dry Fruits Businessman Kidnapped From Car In Odisha’s Koraput

Jeypore: Unidentified miscreants reportedly kidnapped a dry fruits businessman near Patraput Bridge in Koraput district on Saturday night while he was travelling by his car from Jeypore to Paduwa. The businessman, identified as Kaya Satya, is a native of Paduwa village under Boipariguda police station in the district.

According to reports, Satya was returning home on Saturday night after finalising a deal and collecting cash to the tune of Rs 7.5 lakh. Suddenly, unidentified miscreants intercepted his car and forced him out of the vehicle Kota Junction.

On Sunday morning, locals spotted the businessman’s abandoned can and informed the police. On the other hand, Satya’s family members lodged a missing complaint with the police after they failed to trace his whereabouts.

Satya, however, reportedly called his family members on Sunday morning and informed them that he was being held hostage at a place in Motu of Malkangiri district.

The police are investigating the incident and trying to track Satya’s mobile phone.
