The Starship rocket launched by SpaceX in its 7th test flight turned disastrous as the spacecraft was destroyed following a thrilling booster catch back at the pad. The rocket was launched from the Boca Chica launch pad at Texas at 5.38 pm EST on Thursday. The SpaceX mission control in Texas lost contact with Starship eight minutes into the flight after its separated in space from its Super Heavy first stage booster, SpaceX Communications Manager Dan Huot stated on a live stream. He said,” we did lose all communications with the ship – that is essentially telling us we had an anomaly with the upper stage,”Huot said, confirming minutes later that the ship was lost. A video showing the Starship breaking down into pieces is doing the orunds on the Internet. However, before breaking up the SpaceX’s latest Starship test achieved new distance milestones. CEO Elon Musk shared the video of the falling debris and wrote,” Success is uncertain, but entertainment is guaranteed! ”. The spacecraft was intended to fly across the Gulf of Mexico on a near loop around the world just like the previous test flights. The test flights were replica’s of the size of Starlink internet satellites and were targeted to drop into the Indian Ocean. The team lost contact about 8 and a half minutes later. This test flight was the seventh test flight and the first in 2025. Elon Musk has his eyes on reaching Mars.
