Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition (LoP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik has taken charge as the party President for the ninth time at the Sankha Bhawan. Patnaik filed his nomination for the BJD President election on April 19. He was the only one to file the nomination for the post. Thus, he was unanimously voted as the BJD President. The LoP filed his nomination on April 17 to the party Returning Officer Pratap Keshari Deb. He has formally taken charge as the BJD President for the ninth consecutive term. Meanwhile, BJD Coordination Committee President Debi Prasad Mishra informed that the party’s State Council and Executive Committee will be constituted within the following two days. The party will also name the Presidents of various wings. Pratap Keshari Deb had earlier announced the names of District Presidents for 18 organisational districts.
