Malkangiri, AO correspondent 22/4:A meeting of the Committee (DISHA) formed to coordinate and review various rural development programs was held at the Malkangiri District Council Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Nabarangpur Lok Sabha MP Sri Balabhadra Majhi. The meeting was attended by District Council Chairperson Samari Tangul, Chitrakonda MLA Mangu Khila, District Collector Ashish Iswar Patil, DFO sri Pratap Kattapalli, ADM Revenue Mr Vedavar Pradhan, District Council Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer Naresh Chandra Shabar, Additional SP Mr Tapan Narayan Rath and Malkangiri MLA representative Nihar Roy. The MP reviewed the progress of various works and advised the departmental officers to complete the ongoing works within the stipulated time frame. In tribal-dominated districts like Malkangiri, there is a need to work in many areas such as education and health to realize the dream of a self-reliant India and a developed India by 2047, MP Shri Majhi has emphasized. He expressed his opinion that if there is a system of paying wages to migrant workers at least every two days, the unemployment rate in the district will come down. MP Mr Majhi has directed the divisional officers to expedite the work of the railway project. In the meeting, it has been directed to make every household self-reliant in terms of electricity connection, drinking water, agriculture, irrigation, animal husbandry, milk and fish production. The district level officers have been asked to improve the quality of health services and education in rural areas. It has been directed to survey the forests of the district according to the range and submit a report. Similarly, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Kalyan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Sukanya, Lakhpati Didi, Atal Pension and Mudra Yojana were discussed and how everyone can be aware of them and benefit from them. It has been emphasized to connect inaccessible villages through roadways. Similarly, it has been asked to make ancillary arrangements in all schools based on the new education policy. Instructions have been given on how electricity service will be provided to every village. Discussions were also held to ensure mobile network service in every village. The District Collector said that all departments will take steps to reach all developmental works and schemes at the grassroots level as directed by the MP. Among others, Sub Collector Duryadhan Bhoi and officers of all departments of the district were present. Finally, the District Council Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer proposed the vote of thanks.
