Three arrested while planning robbery: Car with deadly weapon seized

Subarnapur, 10/8-Subarnapur district Tarbha police have achieved great success. Tarbha police have arrested three people after raiding a group planning a robbery and seized a white Hyundai Venue car (No. OD -02-DK 6373) and a firearm. Two more robbers have fled from the scene. Information revealed that the last On Sunday, 09/08/26 at 9.50 am, SI Prasannajit Behera of Tarbha police station in Subarnapur district was on patroling duty in Tarbha police station area along with other police personnel. Recently, some suspects gathered in a white Hyundai Venue car (No. OD-02-DK 6373) and the police had received information that they were carrying deadly weapons. They were planning to rob passengers and drivers traveling on the Shibtala-Khari road. On receiving the information, the police arrested three robbers while it is learnt that two of them are absconding. The arrested accused are Pushpa @ P. Ramalu Rao (25)of Sishupalgarh under Dhauli police station in Bhubaneswar, Pratyush Priyanshu Naik (20) of Dhenkanal Bajichowk (current address – Kadali godown ) in Buddha Nagar, Bhubaneswar) and Rajesh Ranjan Naik (24) of Shibtala village under Tarbha police station in Subarnapur district. The police have seized a White Colour Hyundai car bearing Regd no. OD -02-DK 6373, a Bhujali , a knife, an iron pipe, a chilli powder packet, three black masks, a rope and two sticks from them. A case has been registered in Tarbha police station No. 294/09/8/2026/U/s-310(4)/310(5)BNS /25(IB)( b)Arms Act and further investigation is underway. P. Ramalu Rao is a well-known criminal of Bhubaneswar and there are many cases registered against him in various police stations of Bhubaneswar UPD area. According to the information received, there are many cases registered against the accused Pushpa @ P. Ramalu Rao in Badagarh, Khandagiri, Bharatpur, Capital police stations of Bhubaneswar UPD area, while another accused Pratyush Priyanshu Naik has multiple cases registered against him in Bhubaneswar Laxmi Sagar, Badagarh and Dhenkanal Town police stations. This was informed by Subarnapur S. P.Narayan Nayak at a press conference held at Subarnapur District Police Headquarters today. Other police officers were present in this press conference.
