Baripada, September 28: With the aim of strengthening the culture of entrepreneurship, innovation and start-up creation in higher educational institutions, faculty members of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University have successfully completed a six-day Faculty Mentor Development Training Programme organised at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad.
The initiative was launched by Odisha Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj on Teachers’ Day, September 5, under the aegis of the State Higher Education Department. The training programme was conducted from September 21 to 26.
The primary objective of the training was to encourage students in higher educational institutions to develop new ideas, pursue innovation and take an interest in setting up enterprises, while providing them with the necessary guidance and mentorship.
From Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Professor Sukanta Kumar Nayak of the Department of Biotechnology and Assistant Professor Dr Janmenjaya Nayak of the Department of Computer Science participated as trainees and successfully completed the programme.
The programme was conducted by Professor Amit Kumar Dwivedi, Government Project Director at EDII. The trainees also had the opportunity to engage in intellectual discussions on various subjects with Dr Sunil Shukla, Director General of the institute.
The trained mentors will now provide appropriate guidance to students at their respective universities and colleges on new ideas, innovative initiatives and plans related to establishing enterprises. This is expected to help create a conducive ecosystem for the development of new enterprises in higher educational institutions and encourage students towards self-reliance.
Congratulating the two trained faculty members, Professor Nayak and Dr Nayak, Vice-Chancellor of the university Professor Mahendra Kumar Mohanty extended his best wishes to them for their future mentoring efforts.
