New Delhi, 21/1: The second match of the 3 ODI series is being played between India and South Africa in Paarl. India had to face defeat in the first ODI in Paarl. In such a situation, to save the series, India will have to win this match at any cost. In the second ODI also, captain KL Rahul did not make any changes in the playing-11. That is, Venkatesh Iyer will be available as the sixth bowler.
In the first ODI, captain KL Rahul did not bowl Venkatesh Iyer despite R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal proving to be expensive in the middle over. He was criticized a lot for this. One of the reasons for India’s defeat was also not being able to take wickets in the middle over. The captain himself also said this after the match. Meanwhile, just before the second ODI, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has requested the management of Team India to get Venkatesh Iyer to bowl in this match.
Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel, “With folded hands, I request Venkatesh Iyer to bowl. Because if you don’t bowl, then what’s the point of keeping it in the team? Then feed someone else. I have full hope of bowling from Venkatesh. I don’t know how he will bowl. But as a seam bowler, he is definitely an option.”
