New Delhi, 17/2: The Supreme Court has quashed the interim order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court staying the ‘Haryana State Local Candidates Employment Act, 2020’. The top court says that the High Court has not given any reason for its stay order. Along with this, the court has requested the High Court to take a final decision on this matter within four weeks. A bench of Justices L Nageswara Rao and PS Narasimha ordered the Haryana government not to take any coercive action against the employers.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s government had approached the Supreme Court this month against the High Court’s order. The High Court had stayed the reservation of local candidates in private sector jobs. The High Court had called it unstable and against natural justice. The court had said that they did not see any benefit in the argument that this law is valid, which should be in the interest of the unemployed of Haryana.
