Australia, 1/3 (AO Bureau): The difficulties have not been diminishing since the retirement of former Australian batsman Luke Pomersbach. He has been arrested by the police in connection with drugs and theft. Luke was accused of stealing jewelry, golf-related items from South Perth, Scarborough, and Woodlands areas between 24 January and 16 February this year. Apart from this, he is also accused of being involved in the drug trade. However, last week he got bail from a Perth court in this case. But due to not depositing a personal guarantee of five thousand dollars, he will have to remain in jail.
Luke has played just one T20 match for Australia. That too against New Zealand in 2007. The story of his international debut is also very interesting. Actually, Brad Hogg was supposed to play in this match against New Zealand. But he was injured just before the match. Pomerbash had reached the stadium to watch the match and was putting his car in the parking lot only to know that he had to play in this match. He then played domestic cricket for Western Australia.
