Pink powder for forestfire dousing being used in LA, what is it and what does it contain

Los Angeles: In the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, many parts of the city have been seen to be coated with a pink powder like substance. The pink powder for forestfire has drawn the attention of several internet users.

The pink powder is called Phos-Chek it is a flame retardant.  The powder has been used to fight forestfires since 1963 in the USA. Media agencies suggest that it is popularly used alll over the world to help stop blazes. The product is said to contain water, fertilizer type salts, colouring agents and corrosion inhibitors. The compony that produces it is called Primeter. The company advises cleaning off the powder at the earliest. The is said to fade slowly and become similar to the colour of soil as it comes in contact with sunlight. However there is a ban on the use of this substance in environmentally sensitive areas. It is worth mentioning here that, the LA wildfires continue to rage, the death toll has risen to 24, many people have gone missing. The fire in Los Angeles is spreading rapidly. Instead of stopping, the wildfire has now spread to new areas. More than 12,000 homes have been reduced to ashes. The city of Pacific Palisades is in the middle of the fire. The fire has spread to about 1,000 acres. As a result, the people have been forced to leave their homes and move to safer places. About 200,000 people have fled their homes. Many Hollywood stars have left their homes. Some cities have been completely burned. Property worth 1.2 trillion has been reduced to ashes. This is the largest fire in the history of United States of America. It is worth mentioning here that, as many as 335 schools have been closed due to the fire. Meanwhile, the forest fire is being fueled by the Southern breeze. This wind is helping the fire spread. This wind coming from the dry region of South Los Angeles and has made the fire more fierce. There is not enough water to control the fire.
