Mega Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Held at GIET University: 150 Units of Blood Collected

Gunupur:(Correspondent) :- The nation celebrates the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as Parakram Diwas. In this context, GIET University organized a grand celebration to honor Netaji’s legacy. A voluntary mega blood donation camp was conducted on the university campus, where a total of 150 units of blood were collected.
The event was inaugurated by Satyajit Nayak, the Asst. Collector  who attended as the chief guest. He appreciated the efforts of the students for their selfless contribution and commended the dedication of the NSS officials and volunteers.
Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, Controller of Examinations, and K. Jayashree, Head of the School of Nursing, also attended the camp to motivate the blood donors. Dr. Sujata Devi and technicians Suruchi Rani Patra, Rakesh Kumar Panda, Rozy Nayak, and Bharati Paricha from the Gunupur Blood Bank actively participated in collecting the donated blood.
The camp was coordinated by NSS Program Officers Professor Bani Prasad Nayak (Unit-1) and Ghanistha Prusti (Unit-2)along with Dr. S. Padhi and Co-Convoner  Dr. Premanshu Sekhar Rath. Other key contributors included Pramod Ranjan Panda, Gopal Krishna Mohant, Dr. Nirmala Patel, Niharika Patel, Jayanti Dang, Dhumesh Meher, Dr. Nishit Das, Sports Officer Rabindra Kumar Panda, Krishna Prasad Das, and Jasil Pattnaik.
Faculty members, students, and staff of the university enthusiastically participated in the camp and donated blood voluntarily. Certificates of appreciation were given to all donors.
The President of the University, Dr. Satya Prakash Panda, Vice-President Dr. Chandra dhwaj Panda, Director General Dr. Jagadish Panda, and Registrar Dr. N.V. Jagannadha Rao extended their congratulations to the blood donors and encouraged the continuation of such noble efforts for the welfare of society.
GIET University regularly conducts blood donation camps every month, supplying blood to blood banks in Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam districts. This initiative helps save the lives of patients suffering from anemia and other conditions. Due to these commendable efforts, the university has been consistently recognized as the Highest Blood Donor Educational Institution by the state government and NSS every year. This recognition continues to inspire volunteers and institutions to engage in selfless community service.
