New Delhi, 30/6 (AO Bureau): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Wednesday that India believes in the ‘World Health Organization’ to ensure timely and effective steps against possible future pandemics. There is an urgent need for ‘comprehensive reforms’. Harsh Vardhan, while addressing the meeting of health ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries through video-conference, said that the global crisis arising out of the Kovid-19 epidemic should be deepened by the constantly evolving new forms of the virus Has gone. He underlined the need for greater cooperation between countries in relation to various aspects of health to combat this.
According to a statement issued by the Health Ministry, Harsh Vardhan said, “Therefore, it is desirable that we continue to exchange our experience, knowledge, best practices as well as innovations to strengthen our public health systems.” He said that India is working on enhancing core capabilities to manage the current situation and ensure long-term measures to mitigate any future crises. He said that India, like many other countries, believes that major reforms in the World Health Organization are urgently needed.
